Jennifer Goddard, MA CCC-SLP
It is a pleasure to introduce our July Teletherapist spotlight, Jennifer Goddard. Jennifer has been with Unlimited Teletherapy since August 2022.
1. Tell me all about yourself.
I live on a farm in West Virginia, and I have triplets, two girls, and one boy. They are 15-years-old and will be going into their sophomore year in high school. I have been a therapist since 1991 and still love everything about my job.
2. How long have you been with Unlimited Teletherapy?
I have been with Unlimited Teletherapy since August of last year, so I am coming up on my one-year anniversary!
3. What is your favorite part about working at Unlimited Teletherapy? What do you enjoy most?
My favorite part of working for Unlimited Teletherapy is the communication and support from Danny, Nancy, and Keely. It is great having your boss be speech therapists themselves because they know what you are going through and can understand how to deal with it.
4. How did you get started in the industry?
I have always been into computers and have been working with them since I was nine. I started working with the first original IDMS and through my career I have always been a big advocate for computer learning apps. I was talking to a recruiter about 15 years ago and he said “Have you ever tried Teletherapy?” He was the one who got me started. It combined both of my loves, speech, and computers. I was also having some medical issues at the time and I was able to balance my work and home life much easier and keep working doing what I love.
5. What does a workday look like for you?
I usually do back-to-back sessions with smaller groups of children because that is when I make the best progress. There are times when I may only have a half hour in the day available, but I make sure to stay booked. I also have an E-helper that works with me, which makes my days easier. I have a tendency to book a lot of sessions every day. I have seen as many as 20 children in one day. I like to stay busy, so right now, I am doing summer school sessions.
6. What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
I don’t watch television, but my daughter is trying to get me to start Law and Order, this summer. Aside from tv, I do enjoy listening to audiobooks or reading. The book I am reading now is a Nora Robert’s book.
7. What’s one thing on your bucket list?
Learn to program!
Jennifer is one of many of our Teletherapists at Unlimited Teletherapy that is passionate, nurturing, and committed to supporting students to meet their individual goals. We are honored to have her on our team!
